Video evidence of how Bio Empruv and foliar nutrition enhanced corn yields

Crop consultant Bob Streit has made available a video showing how Dave Schwartz’s “synergistic” foliar feeding and Bio Empruv sprays added as much as 40 bu. to his corn yield in 2016.  We’ve reported details on the foliar treatments before, but this is the first video available where Bob and Dave personally walk the field and […]

Laboratory testing commissioned by the organizations Moms Across America and Sustainable Pulse revealed that glyphosate is now showing up virtually everywhere.

Laboratory testing commissioned by the organizations Moms Across America and Sustainable Pulse revealed that glyphosate is now showing up virtually everywhere. The analysis revealed glyphosate in levels of 76 μg/L to 166 μg/L in women’s breast milk. As reported by The Detox Project, this is 760 to 1,600 times higher than the EU-permitted level in

Feedback from farmers on how WakeUP is helping them

This evening we came across a collection of farmer comments on the benefits they’ve found with WakeUP. The page of comments dates back to 2012, but it could have originated in 2016 because spray drift control, enhanced herbicide performance and foliar-feeding yield response are even more effective now than then. Here’s why: Dec. 29, 2016 — We

How corn growers gain 40 bu. or more with full-season crop health and nutrition

This winter offers your opportunity to create a strategy for full-season corn crop health in 2017. That calls for countering the trend we’ve seen the past several years: Corn dying a few days earlier each season. Dec.26, 2016 — Keeping corn leaves green until frost, especially the leaves above the ear, is a major source

Dec. 24 weekend essay: A world on the eve of a rebirth of freedom?

Dec. 24, 2016  By Jerry Carlson — 25 years ago, I and my friend Bob Fischer were in Moscow, reporting to American farmers on Russia’s farmland “reform.” It was growing from Glasnost, Russia’s new freedoms. The night of Dec. 24,  I watched an obviously anxious Russian TV newsman announce the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

A rising sense of urgency among Chinese anti-GMO activists led one well-known Chinese mother, Xiu-lin Gu of Bejing, to send an open letter to an American mother: Ivanka Trump, president-elect Trump’s daughter. Her letter signals rising citizen activism among Chinese citizens, millions of whom are using social media to share information. In the nearby photo, Xiu-lin is

521-bu. corn contest winner for 2016: Uniform emergence, season-long fertility

Georgia farmer Randy Dowdy told press conference watchers yesterday that contest-winning yields start with managing corn germination and emergence so every seedling spikes out of the soil at the same time.  Dec. 20, 2016 — Randy’s 521.4-bu. yield topped the 2016 National Corn Growers Association Corn Yield Contest for the strip-till irrigated division. Full-season fertility and biologicals offer an edge in a tight-margin season

As I have stated before, on corn following soybeans, I would sooner seek high yields and better profitability by choosing a lower or non-traited hybrid and use half of the savings on in-season fertilizer, micronutrients, foliar fertilizer or products to keep the plants as green as long as possible.
